At the beginning of the summer before my 8th grade season of basketball I attended a basketball camp.
Like many of the camps I ended up attending in middle school as well as in high school there was a guest speaker.

I had a training session with one of my clients last night and between sets of squats, pull ups, bench presses, and rows (just to name a few exercises I have him doing) we talked a bit about the progress he has made thus far.
His goal, like many other people, is to get stronger. He had trained on his own for quite some time and stalled out – he wasn’t making any more progress. All the hours he was spending in the gym were leading to him having the exact same results he had always had because he was doing the same old routine he had always done.
This is what many people do when they go to the gym and it really hinders them from getting the results they desire. Continue reading
Ah yes, back to my favorite topic – interval training.
If you haven’t already found this out, interval training is one of the best ways to burn fat and get fit.
The higher the intensity of these intervals the better results you will get from them – makes sense of course.

Jerry Rice’s nickname is The G.O.A.T. – The Greatest of all Time.
He is quite possibly the greatest football player the NFL has ever seen – holding plenty of NFL receiving records. However, what is most interesting to me is how he was able to do so.
Jerry Rice didn’t just play well for a couple of seasons, he consistently played at an elite level, better than anyone else, year after year after year after year after year (I think you get the point). Continue reading
I have a love/hate relationship with perfection.
On one hand perfection is crippling.
We see examples of how crippling perfection can be every day. If you want a real world example just look at a few magazines.
The people on the cover are often photo-shopped to make them appear to be “perfect” in the eyes of society.
This standard of perfection is seen by millions of people which henceforth causes problems like eating disorders. Continue reading
Zig Ziglar, one of the most inspirational motivational speakers every, had a method of learning he called “Automobile University”.
With all the driving that people do on a daily basis Zig believed that we could learn a tremendous amount by listening to educational programs as we drive – our very own Automobile University.

I’m headed to La Crosse Saturday and I can’t wait to see a bunch of my friends from college. It has been a few months since I’ve been back so I’m definitely looking forward to the trip.
I must say that I debated making the 7 hour round trip journey out there this weekend because I’ll be there less than 24 hours.
