Top 10 Benefits of Hiring a Personal Trainer

Personal Trainer Justin

I am biased towards personal training because I am indeed a personal trainer, however, I wouldn’t be doing this profession I love if I really didn’t believe in what I was doing. If I didn’t think that my services could completely transform another human beings life, then I would stop providing them to people. I’ve seen first hand the tremendous changes that people are capable of and I’ve seen the smiles and tears of joy that come along with people transforming their lives and getting results they never thought possible. Investing in yourself by hiring a personal trainer is one of the best investments you can make. The benefits of doing so are tremendous and can lead to a much improved quality of life. Read on to find out our top 10 benefits of hiring a personal trainer.

1. Building Confidence

Working with a good personal trainer will without a doubt help boost your confidence level. With positivity, encouragement, and understanding, a good personal trainer will show you all of the best in yourself. A good trainer will also help you reach your goals, improving the way your body looks, feels, and operates on a daily basis. This leads to you feeling more confident in yourself and your abilities. Going it alone can be tough because you may be your only source of inspiration; we humans are social beings who thrive in the presence of others. We are all capable of greatness, and hiring a good personal trainer can help you achieve yours.

2. FUN!

Did I just say fun? Yes, I did. Believe it or not, hiring a personal trainer can actually make working out FUN! Personal trainers know many different variations of each exercise and the good ones know how to use them to keep the sessions fun. They can get you out of your stale exercise routine and design a program that challenges you to little self-competitions, introduces you to new exercises, adds variability to your exercise routine, and makes working out more enjoyable–the way it should be!

3. Achieving Success in Other Areas of Life

Of course a trusty personal trainer will help you get into the best shape of your life, but he/she can also help you achieve success in other areas of life as well. The habits you form, the mindset you develop, and the lifestyle philosophy you adopt as a result of being with your personal trainer will translate into improved overall mental, spiritual, and emotional well-being. With the right motivation and mindset, you can reach new heights in the workplace, deepen your relationships, and overcome any and all obstacles that may be holding you back.  Besides being very knowledgeable on exercise, personal trainers are tremendous motivators and can help give you that extra push you needed to reach your full potential, getting that career you have always wanted, having great relationships with the people around you, and experiencing more overall happiness in your life.

4. Accountability

One of the great benefits of hiring a personal trainer is having accountability. A great personal trainer will help keep you accountable for not only exercise, but also nutrition. On top of that, by spending money to hire a trainer, you are making yourself much more accountable for the exercise and lifestyle changes you will make: we are naturally more invested in things we pay for. Having more on the line will help you live the life you desire.

5. Workouts That Fit Your Needs

Anyone can do a workout from Men’s Health, Women’s Health, Shape, Men’s Fitness, or any other magazine, but they are simply cookie cutter programs that don’t take into account differences between individuals that make them unique. These types of programs can lead to injuries as well if you aren’t familiar with the exercises or just aren’t prepared for the training techniques involved in them. Using a personal trainer will allow you to have customized workouts based on your specific goals, the time you have to devote to exercise, the equipment available, and many other factors (e.g. specific health needs, social support, and current mental state). Having this type of program will allow you to achieve the results you desire in much less time.

6. Social Support

We all could use a helping hand sometimes. When you pay for a personal trainer you are getting a lot more than just someone to spot you and count your sets and reps–you are getting a great deal of social support. It is common for people to feel overwhelmed when trying to make a lifestyle change, but a trainer can give you that daily, weekly, monthly support that you need to make a change and continue improving.

7. Expertise

Hiring a personal trainer makes working out out a whole lot simpler. With their expansive knowledge on training, nutrition, and health, your trainer will do all the thinking for you. Based on your goals and input, they’ll determine how you can get the results you desire and what you need do in the workout to achieve those results. This allows you to focus more on actually doing the workouts while learning new things to benefit you for life.

8. Learning how to Work Out for the Rest of your Life

A personal trainer can help give you the knowledge you will need to stay safe, inspired and fit for the rest of your life–even after your sessions are through. When you hire a personal trainer you aren’t just paying for sessions and fitness tips to help you in the time period you are working with them, you are paying for a jumpstart that will allow you to succeed in fitness and wellness for the rest of your life.

9. Efficiency

Your time is very valuable. You probably have what seems like an endless amount of things to do each day. Hiring a personal trainer will help you get results much more effectively and in less time as well. Don’t you want all that time you spend exercising each week to actually count for something? In most of our workout routines, there are much more efficient exercises and techniques than you think; working with a personal trainer can help ensure that you are making the most of your exercise time.

10. Convenience

With the options of in-home personal training and online personal training, personal training is more convenient than ever before. With in-home training, you get to work with your trainer in the comfort and privacy of your home, save time on traveling to the gym, and receive individualized attention without distractions from other gym members. While the in-home training options may be a little pricier than personal training in a gym, the convenience definitely makes it worthwhile. Online personal training allows you to workout wherever you want and whenever you want (within the program guidelines), and allows you the freedom to do it without supervision, yet still with social support and accountability.

There you have it, the top 10 benefits of hiring a personal trainer.
